Permits and Entry Requirements

Langtang National Park Entry Permit

The Langtang National Park entry permit is essential for anyone trekking in the Langtang region. Established in 1976, this park covers an area of 1,710 square kilometers. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including musk deer, Himalayan Tahr, red pandas, snow leopards, sea lions, and over 250 bird species. It is one of the most diverse national parks in Nepal. The cost for a Langtang National Park Entry Permit is NRP 3,000, which includes VAT for foreigners. For residents of SAARC nations, the price is NPR 1500, including VAT.

Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park Entry Permit

Another trekking permit that the trekkers need during the Langtang Region is the Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park entry permit. This entry permit is needed if the trekkers choose a different route from the Gosaikunda–Helambu route. If you want to visit this route, you need an entry permit for Shivapuri National Park. It costs NPR 1,000 for foreigners, NRP 600 for SAARC citizens, and NPR 50 for locals. Children under ten years old can enter for free. You can get this permit at the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or at the entry point in Shivapuri, just like the Langtang National Park permit.
