Pikey Peak Trek is newly introduced trek in Solukhumbu. Dhap , Jhapre, Pikey Peak , Junbensi , Thupten Chholing Gumpa, Phaplu are major places of this trek. You will have the most beautiful sunrise and Himalayas view of Numbur , Thamserku and Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Annapurna, Manaslu, Kanchanjunga and Dhaulagiri etc. Many Buddhist mane walls, stupas, chhorten, Monasteries, sherpa people life style and culture , flora and fauna are other attractions of this trek.

Pikey Peak Trek

Pikey Peak Trek start after drive from Kathmandu to Dhap. Dhap is the trek starting point. You will trek Dhap to Jhapre on the first day trek. In second day, Trek to Pikey Peak Base Camp. Next morning,  you will wake up early in the morning 30 minutes climb to Pikey Peak 4068m for the best sunrise and Himalayas view from Kanchenjunga to Dhaulagiri range. After this beautiful view, you will come back to Lodge in Base Camp and trek down to Junbensi. Junbensi is the classic trekking route Jiri -Everest Base Camp Trek. You will hike to the most popular Thuptenn Chholing Gump at the area. You will bless by the Ringpoche Lama. From Junbensi, you will hike to Phaplu. You will drive or fly back to Kathmandu from Phaplu.

Hotel in Kathmandu

If you want to includes the Hotels in Kathmandu, It is possible to include. For the flexibility , you may book own accommodations Hostel to 5 star Hotel in Kathmandu and you can stay more than one night in Kathmandu  before and after the trek at your prefer place.

Porter option

This is short trek from Kathmandu. We take necessary things during the trek with you. Rest of luggage, you will leave at your Hotel in Kathmandu. If you are okay with 5-6kgs backpack, you do not need porter for this trek.  If you could not carry own backpack, you have an option to hire a porter with the cost of extra US$120 per porter. You can share a porter between 2-3 people.

Essential Infos

How and where can we process the Nepal's Visa ?

You will get on arrival Visa in Kathmandu International Airport . If you fill up this form Department of Immigration Nepal and bring it with you from there. It will be much faster and avoid the long queue.

  • US $ 30 or equivalent foreign currency for Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 15 days.
  • US $ 50 or equivalent foreign currency for Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 30 days.
  • US $ 125 or equivalent foreign currency for Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 100 days.

Regardless of the provision stated in 1(a) and 1(b), tourists with the passport from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations aren’t required to pay visa fee for 30 days. However, Indian nationals do not require visa to enter into Nepal.


Do you have a packing list ?

This is a short trek in Everest region. You do not need any special gears.

I recommend you , Sleeping bag, Trekking boots, Trousers, Socks ,warm jacket, T-shirts (two or three) and long-sleeved shirt, Sunscreen (SPF 20+) , Backpack, Torch (flashlight),Camera ,memory card and battery charger( spare batteries) ,Quick- drying towel, Toilet Paper, warm hat, gloves, thermal underwear , sun glass, water bottle etc.


What kind of food do we expect during this trek ?

The Lodges have Menu; you will have your own choice. The foods are hygienic. But it is not like cities foods. Non-veg food are not recommend. It is not fresh and hygienic .

  • Breakfast: Simple Breakfast (Eggs any item has, toast or Tibetan Bread, Pancake, Muesli, Oat Porridge etc.)
  • Lunch: Nepali Thali (Plain Rice, Lentil soup, Potato Curry, Green Vegetable, Papadam,Tomato Hot spicy, Chicken curry optional), Macorani , Spaghetti, Potato item, Mo.Mo or dumpling, Pizza, Friend Rice, Fried Noodles, French fries etc.
  • Dinner: Nepali Thali (Plain Rice, Lentil soup, Potato Curry, Green Vegetable, Papadam,Tomato Hot spicy or pickle, Chicken curry optional), Macorani , Spaghetti, Potato item, Mo.Mo or dumpling, Pizza, Friend Rice, Fried Noodles, French fries etc.
  • Dessert: Fresh Fruit (Apple, orange, pomegranates, Banana with any seasonal fruit) serve as sweet dessert.

Note: All the drinks soft, hot, hard drinks are not included.


When is the best time to do this trek ?

We organize this trek all the months. But if you are planning to do this trek at the best time. We recommend you following time.

  • Winter (December – February): This is coldest time of the year. It will be snow during this time. But you can still do this trek.
  • Spring (March – May): This is best time to trek on Pikey Peak trek. You will have wonderful weather with warm temperature. You will also have chances to see the Rhododendron flowers.
  • Summer (June – August): This is monsoon in Nepal. There is chances of raining every day and it will be cloudy and risk of landslide. The rain poncho or rain jacket is needed.
  • Autumn (September – November): This is another best time to do Pikey Peak trek. After the raining season. It will be fresh and clear weather will be appear. It will be warm temperature.
