Best time for Short Treks
There are several amazing short treks in Nepal. Some treks are located in the hilly region, near the Kathmandu region, in the Himalayan snowy area, or in the Terai region. Unlike other trekking for the short trek, you can choose from three seasons to experience the fantastic adventure. Those three seasons are Spring, Autumn, and Winter. So let’s get into them.
Spring
Spring is the best time to trek in Nepal, and it includes short treks. This season begins in March and ends in May, and the best reason to trek during this season is to pass through flowering trails and jungles on amazing sunny days. The weather and temperature of the region become extremely beautiful, with crisp views of the sky, mountains, and valleys far and beyond.
Autumn
Like Spring, Autumn is also the best season for trekking in every region of Nepal, including the short trekking areas. This season begins in the middle of September and ends in November. The early days of September receive heavy to mild rainfalls, but just a month later, October is the beginning of the peak season of autumn. The best attractions for trekking in the autumn are the majestic views of the panoramic mountains and the chance to take amazing sunrise and sunset photos.
Food and Accommodation during the Short Treks
Food and Accommodation are critical factors everyone should consider during trekking days. However, for short treks, food and accommodation are less essential but still necessary. Since the trekkers won’t spend much time in the high-altitude wilderness during short treks, they can stay in budgeted or luxurious hotels or lodges. However, in some trekking packages like the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, the trekkers may have to stay in the teahouse. The teahouses are short but wide, with twin beds and an attached bathroom. In the same teahouse, trekkers can also have their food.
In the higher altitudes, food is limited to local Nepali Dal Bhat, with some Western menu items like Pizzas and burgers. But during this short trek, the trekkers mostly visit the local cities and towns and developed places with pubs, hotels, and restaurants. The trekkers can choose from unique Western dishes and the local Thakali Dal Bhat in these restaurants. During the trekking days, the trekkers will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
