FAQs
We offer short treks, long adventurous treks, day trips, and tour packages across Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan. This means whether you have just 1 day or a full month in Nepal, we’ve got you covered. And if you’re not sure where to start, explore our main trekking and tour categories from the homepage to see popular routes and itineraries.
You can book a trip with us via our online booking form, by email (info@himalayatrip.com), or via WhatsApp (+977 9851196388). Once your itinerary is confirmed, we’ll guide you through the booking process, payment, and trip preparation.
We recommend booking at least one month in advance, especially for peak seasons like autumn and spring when the number of trekkers increases dramatically. Booking early helps secure your permits, accommodation, and domestic flights. For high-demand routes such as Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Circuit Trek during peak season, booking 2-3 months in advance is ideal to secure your preferred dates and services.
Yes. We can customize most tours and trekking itineraries to match your travel dates, budget, preferred destinations, group size, and pace. Kindly let us know your requirements, and we’ll prepare a customized itinerary. For more ideas, you can also use our Customize Trip option on the website to request a tailor-made plan.
Yes, we organize both private trips and fixed group departures. If you prefer a private trip, simply share your travel dates, group size, and requirements, and we’ll create a personalized itinerary for your group. If you’d like to join other travelers, you can choose from our scheduled group departure dates available in the respective trek packages. For example, to book for the EBC trek, you need to check the Available Dates & Prices section under our Everest Base Camp Trek package.
To process a booking, you must send us a completed booking form with a 20% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival in Nepal and before your departure date, either at our office or via our secure system. Exact payment timing will be clearly stated in your booking confirmation.
If your trip is confirmed and payment has been made, and you cancel for any reason, 20% of the full trip payment will be charged. Additional conditions may apply depending on how close to departure you cancel. In circumstances such as bad weather, flight cancellations, landslides, or political problems that prevent the trip from starting, Himalaya Trip will suggest a similar alternative. If you choose to cancel instead of taking the suggested trip, we will deduct actual costs (permits, hotels, taxes) and refund the remaining amount. For full details, please refer to the Cancellation & Booking Changes section in our Terms & Conditions page.
Inclusions vary by trip, but most packages cover accommodation, transportation during the trip, permits, experienced guides, porters, and meals as specified in the itinerary. You can find a detailed list of what is included and excluded on each trip page.
For example, for 7 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek (cost ranges from USD 399 to 499, depending on the group size), the package covers transportation to and from the trailhead, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the trek, permit costs, guide fees, accommodation during the trek, all applicable government taxes, and first aid kits. The price excludes hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara, international airfare, Nepal visa fees, porter fees, and all personal expenses.
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most popular seasons for trekking, with stable weather and clear mountain views. Nepal is a year-round destination, though, and different regions offer unique experiences in every season.
Yes. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trekking at your planned altitude, emergency medical treatment, trip cancellation, and helicopter evacuation if necessary. We’ll ask you to provide your insurance details before the trek starts so our guides and team can coordinate effectively in case of an emergency.
Yes. Our trips are led by experienced, licensed local guides who know the routes, local culture, and safety procedures well. Many trekking packages also include porters to help carry your luggage. Our guides can speak English and are trained to monitor altitude symptoms, weather conditions, and trail safety throughout the trip.
Absolutely. Solo travelers can book private trips or join selected group departures to share the experience with other travelers and keep costs lower. If you’re traveling alone, just let us know your preferred route and dates, and we’ll advise whether group departures are available or design a private itinerary for you.
